Fernando Alvarez BorgesDr Alvarez-Borges main research fields are Geotechnics and Geomechanics, and uses CT to study the interaction between building foundations and the soil and rock on which they are built.

Ehsan NazemiDr. Nazemi's main responsibilities include, but not limited to, running X-ray scans and reconstruction, data processing, caring X-ray machines, and other aspects of day-to-day operations.

Stephanie RobinsonDr Robinson is a post-doctoral research fellow who works on 3D imaging and functional modelling of microlymphatic networks in both clinical and pre-clinical samples. Although her focus is on pulmonary networks, she also works on dermal and pancreatic lymphatic networks.

Ian SinclairProf. Sinclair’s core interests lie in micromechanics of failure in materials and structures. This currently involves extensive use of high resolution computed tomography methods. A wide range of interdisciplinary projects include applications of CT for biomedical, crop science, earth science and heritage projects.

Philipp SchneiderProf. Schneider is a former academic lead for biomedical imaging, having joined the Bioengineering Science Research Group in 2013 and he led the 3D X-ray Histology project.

Katie DexterDr Dexter is part of the team BIU team, and runs the in vivo small animal imaging CT and optical imaging systems.

Sharif AhmedDr Ahmed is a Beamline Scientist at DIAD beamline at Diamond Light Source synchrotron science facility. Sharif specialises in quantitive analysis techniques in 2D and 3D. His primary area of research is in 3D shape characterisation, 4D testing of granular/porous materials and numerical modelling using DEM.

Philippa A.S. ReedProf. Reed is academic lead in structural materials, with a particular interest 3D aspects of crack initiation and growth in metallics. Major application areas include turbine materials for aerospace and power generation, along with a variety of performance issues in welds and automotive powertrain components.

Thomas BlumensathDr. Blumensath leads work on advanced tomographic reconstruction and novel approaches to volumetric image analysis. He is also interested in the study and development of unconventional x-ray tomographic approaches as well as the use of x-ray tomography for dimensional metrology.
